Our Experience

The Symera group can draw on a wealth of experience, having worked alongside some of the world's leading telecommunications companies for some 25 years. This experience has encompassed network planning and installation of both wireless and fixed networks – as well as feasibility studies and business planning for a wide range of wireless services.

Fixed Networks: following the opening up of the UK telecoms market, members of the Symera team worked closely with established players and new market entrants such as AT&T, Cable & Wireless, Colt, Kingston Communications, Level 3, MCI and Worldcom as well as with the various cable operators that gradually merged into NTL and Telewest.

Wireless Networks: however, wireless has always played a significant role in the UK communications market, from the early days of PMR through to the introduction of PAMR, CT2 and the first mobile cellular services. Members of the Symera team have made a significant contribution to the growth and development of these wireless services, working with companies as diverse as Cellnet (O2), Orange, Paknet, Pie, Philips, Securicor Datatrak, National Band 3, Quicktrak and Vodafone.

Team members have been closely involved in the development of new wireless services from the early days of private mobile radio through to the development of new services using a range of radio frequencies up to 10 GHz.

Working with the public sector:

Symera companies have a long history of working with the public sector. In particular, Symera IVS has an enviable track record delivering CCTV systems on a citywide basis.

Over the past 7 years, IVS has been responsible for installing: CCTV and ANPR systems, alarms and remote entry systems, warden call and concierge systems as well as communications systems for police and emergency services.

IVS has worked with schools and colleges, health authorities, as well as with the police and various government agencies.
