Removing Viruses
There are a number of things you can do for free to keep your computer safe from viruses. You can check out the best free anti virus software you also should only install only one anti-virus program as having more that one will cause system issues (Like system slowdown or not even booting along with other possible issues).
Installing Avg Anti-virus
First download AVG from here when it has finished download click on install file on your desktop
Click Run
Click Next
Click on Basic Protection
Then click on Next
AVG will now download the installation files
When download has finish click on I have read license agreement
Then click on Accept
Then it will go through a system check
Click on Next
Now you get a activate screen click Next
You now get this screen I would de-select both options and then click Next
You may get this screen if you do let AVG close programs it finds by clicking Next
You will then get this screen

You will get a couple of choices here it is personal choice .
When you have made your choice's click Finish
You will now get this screen click on Optimize scanning now
This will do a quick scan of your system you will see this icon 
on your task bar
You can double click on the icon to see what it is doing this is the screen
When it is finished you will be protected from virus.
